Pride and Distinction

Anavils have produced great thinkers and social reformers who have made strong impact on the society at large. Some of the well known stately figures include the following:

1.Dr Manibhai Bhimbhai Desai	(April 27, 1920 - 1993)
	He was a freedom fighter and the first non-Congress party Prime Minister of India. He is the only Indian to receive the highest civilian awards from both India and Pakistan and, namely the Bharat Ratna and Nishaan-e-Pakistan.
2.Morarji Ranchhodji Desai	(April 27, 1920 - 1993)
	Was an Indian social activist and a pioneer of rural development. Under the guidance of Mahatma Gandhi he settled in 1947 in the backward village of Uruli Kanchan near Pune, Maharashtra, to begin a programme of rural development. He received the 1982 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service, sometimes called Asia's Nobel Prize.
3.Mahadeev Desai
	1892 – 1942 Indian independence activist and nationalist writer; he was most famously known for being the personal secretary of Mahatma Gandhi.
4.Bhulabhai Desai
	An Indian freedom fighter and acclaimed lawyer
5.Khandubhai Desai
	Felicitation to Shri Khandubhai K. Desai on his appointment as Governor of Andhra Pradesh.
6.Bindu Nanubhai Desai
	Bindu is an Indian actress popular during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s
7.Lord Meghnad Jagdishchandra Desai
	Baron Desai July 1940 British Economist and Labour Politician
8.Manmohan Kikubhai Desai
	1937 – 1994 was a successful and famous producer and director of Indian movies.
9.Anil Manibhai Naik
	The Chairman and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro India’s Engineering

Pranchi Ameetaben Desai 1988. Famous Actress and Winner of reality Show Jhalak Dikhlaja Anoop Desai 1986 rose to national fame with his participation in the Eight Season of American Idol.
